Has anyone ever tried this system/course? Speak now all you Black Belts of Poker. I'm really curious about this one!

I saw a commercial on for it really late at night while watching Cash Poker/UPC. Antonio Esfandiari endorses it too!

He's playing with suited chips in the commercials IIRC, you can't trust people who play with those chips

I'm a Hellmuth fan, but not from an instructional angle. I like watching him play, I like his charisma and his ego, but his books are just bathroom readers for me.

Isn't that Sidepot's InPlay Clay $5 chip on the button to download the book? Hmmm... suing opportunity? Or do you think they got permission?

*EDIT* I just noticed the HUGE $5000 inlay from the InPlay at the top of the screen, and various other denoms as you navigate the site. I'm going to assume they have permission.

I like Phil and have been interested in this course since I first heard about it. I'd love to know of other's experiences with it.

Have you read Play Poker Like the Pros. I got it for 50 cents and I don't consider it a deal. I respect him immensely for what he is, probably the best NLHE tournament player, but he doesn't come across as a good teacher. Furthermore, many of his "facts" are erroneous. When he plays on TV he uses the "poker brat" attitude too much when it is totally ineffectual. I'm sorry, but his behavior isn't going to influence Phil Ivey, Doyle and Johnny Chan.

gotta agree with the others. I'm not a phil hater, but I wouldn't recommend spending money on this if it is like any of his other products. I have never purchased his books or dvds, but I had a friend who got one of each so I perused them. They are purely beginners, and I would think that if you have watched any poker on TV or played a for a few months you have probably picked up that much on your own.

Plus I am pretty sure you are a pretty intelligent person BW (and you too Jamby), so I would think you would be much better off checking out the small stakes NL forum on 2p2. The sticky at the top of the thread has tons of articles that will do much more to help your game than Phil's products IMHO.

I was always curious about the "Million Dollar Poker Secrets" DVD series so I downloaded some of them. It is all pretty basic and has more bark than bite.

The "tells" one had a couple alright tips but I wouldn't pay for them. I don't know why this one would be any different.

I bought Play Poker Like the Pros and Bad Beats and Lucky Draws for $1 each at a Borders Outlet. They were probably worth about what I paid, and they're good conversation pieces if nothing else.
