Chips: 5,913 | | | smart play or foolish gambool? Absolute Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t75/t150
8 players
Converter
NOTES: Most of the table are pretty solid. Limps preflop from middle position have always been with speculative hands (ie small pocket pairs or suited connectors). Button is small stack.
My UTG limp is not what I'm looking to debate. It might be wrong but I want to know about the rest of the play.
Stack sizes:
HERO: t3455
UTG+1: t4685
MP1: t4110
MP2: t2905
CO: t2505
Button: t1135
SB: t7785
BB: t2695
Pre-flop: (8 players) HERO is UTG with Kd Jd
HERO calls t150 (pot = t375),
3 folds,
CO calls t150 (pot = t525),
Button raises all-in t1135 (pot = t1735),
2 folds,
back to hero....t985 to call.....
HERO raises all-in t3455.
CO folds

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 35.310% 34.87% 00.45% 41789930 533439.50 { KdJd }
Hand 1: 64.690% 64.24% 00.45% 77004471 533439.50 { 88+, AJs+, KQs, AQo+ }
plus some chance that the co limped deep with a big hand. a very slim chance, but a chance. plus some chance that the co limped along with something like KQ and called. a slim chance, but a chance.
but, as seen above, i think even assuming that you successfully isolate you're not getting a good price.
so yeah, i vote for semi-foolish (but with good accumulation potential) gambool. is this a sng? if so, then i hate it. if it's a MTT, then it's not so bad. |

if he pushes with ANY pair, and we KNOW the other limper will fold...then it's an okay price (but still too much gambool for a sng, imo)

I would say any pkt pair, A4+, KQ, KJ, maybe even QJ and KT (occasional 9Ts or JTs as well). I can say this with confidence because this is a 2p2 dominated field and this player is looking to pick off limpers and get some chips. I asume this because I would make the same play a lot in his situation, and a lot of the players play a very similar tag style pf. |

2p2 dominated
"generally solid play" misleading...seems like we're talking tight here
mtt
yeah, considering all the info, i like the play for accumulation purposes. |

I dunno, if I'm limping there, it's to see a cheap flop. If that doesn't happen, I'm gone, unless the push is from a super-short stack. |

so far the tally is:
jojo: play is ok because of structure, payout situation, and knowledge of field.
yeltzen: not necessarily a bad play, but he wouldn't make it.
anyone else?
