Re: Button/Blinds in a tourney @ heads-up.

Yes

The blinds move as usual, and you move the button to fit the blinds correctly. SB is always the button, so the button would move in that scenario. One person cannot post the same blind twice.

If the BB gets knocked out 3-way, then the SB becomes the BB and button freezes, but now posts the SB.

Basically in a 3 way scenario, if the button player is eliminated, the previous BB is now the SB, and SB the BB, but the button actually moves backwards to the SB position, but only once, and now always follows the SB position.

Is that the part that I'm missing? That the button goes backwards one time?
Technically yes.

If it's easier for you, try to think of it as actually picking up the button when it gets to heads up and then placing it in front of the SB once the blinds have moved as required.

If you're still unclear, check out the "Heads Up" section near the bottom of the page on the above link.

Re: Button/Blinds in a tourney @ heads-up.

been clarified, but i want to give confirmation. dealer is the small blind when heads up, so he/she is first to act preflop and last to act post flop...

Re: Button/Blinds in a tourney @ heads-up.

Thanks all, I do get it now.

At least I was "consistantly wrong" all this time, doing it the way we've been doing it.
