Do you have a lucky or favorite hand? A hand you rarely lay down?

If you do have a lucky hand, what is it? Why do you think it's lucky for you? Do you ever lay it down pre-flop? When do you lay it down post-flop? Has it gotten you in trouble because you get married to it?

Tell us about it.

Mine is A-J, suited or unsuited, it's a favorite. This is a recent thing as I was holding As-Jh on the last hand in the CT main event last October and it held up for me. Since that was my first tournament win, it was super special.

I almost always play it, even out of position, but will lay it down pre-flop if it feels like I'm up against a monster. I haven't gotten married to it and have had no problem laying it down after the flop.

I also have an unlucky hand that is usually considered a monster - K-K. I lose with those hole cards more often than not. I'll leave that for another thread though.

Q-8. Suited or not, doesn't matter. I love it.

Sort of. I play 9dTd and Js9s more often than I should b/c I like the way they look. I don't know why - the other suits don't get played, but those do. I don't *always* play them, but I'm really upset when I have to fold 9dTd for some reason.

Re: Do you have a lucky or favorite hand? A hand you rarely lay down?

I like pocket 8s. I don't play them any differently, I just always seem to have pretty good luck with them.

The first live poker game I played, I had pocket 8s, with a flop of 8-7-4 rainbow. Two other players and I both raised and re-raised until eventually all three of us were all in (I had both of them barely covered at the point, early in the tournament..) - they had pocket 4s and pocket 7s.

I remember that, I threw 56 preflop
