Chips: 32 | | | Re: donky opponent, tiny bets I would re-raise flop another 120 or so to see where I stand. If he calls, then I fold to a turn bet. He may have a weak ace or a mid-pocket. Also by re-raising the flop, it might get him to check it down to the river.
You said he has played about 80% of his hands. Did he minimum bet other times when he's had top pair? Did he minimum bet when he was strong, i.e. 2 pair? What sort of read did you get on him? |

you have no idea where he is. The last thing you want to do is create a big pot with a hand when you don't really know if you are best. Get to a showdown cheap where you are ahead most of the time. If he is bluffing you probably don't win much by raising, and if he has an A he isn't laying it down.
I think this is by far the best strategy with a hand like TT. If he wants to let us get to a cheap showdown with a pair of tens then I take it and hope he flips over KJ, Q9 or some trash like that. |

p.s. you're like me, I like to surf the net and read the chipnet forum during games |

Chips: 14,709 | | | Re: donky opponent, tiny bets ok - 80% of the hands, and I assume that he has played in a similar fashon - only the microbets? - has he folded to resistance? any variation in the betting and do you think that the sizes mean anything? any preflop raises?
first things first - Pawlow is a weenie. Raising from EP-MP with one limper - then folding to that bet? Cmon man, u need a real hand there. No way do you try the steal against someone who is calling that much.
Ok - your play, - I would pretty much do the same thing there. Without really having any more information on his playing style, my preference is to keep the pot small with that hand. He keeps throwing the sweetener bets out there, well - sure I call (lacking any other betteing pattern information).
Raising might only do a couple of things, and most are bad. If this guy is really a donk, -
1. You get called and win. Maybe if this is truly a donkey - but I see most if not all hands that you beat folding here with the exception of maybe 7-8.
2. You get called and lose. I see this happening the majority of the time.
3. You get raised = now you are comitted and he has woken up and put you al in.
4. He folds better hand - 0% of the time (you said donkey). you push the river - and decent players might lay down JJ ,QQ or maybe a real weak A - but I do not see a donk doing so.
5: He folds hand u beat anyway.
I just see many really bad things that could happen with a raise there. If you call and lose, you are not in terrible shape - but any raise from you could really knock a big chunk of of your stack. You had like 320 invested in that pot - taking the risk to make another 400+ against someone whom you think is a total donk is not worth it IMO.
I know that you put these hands out here for a reason - my guess is that you raised into quad threes shortly before throwing the mouse into a wall. |

Looks more like a weak A to me and I would see a showdown considering how cheep he made it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
