My wife and I have this thing where we make 1 NYR for each other. Her resolution for me is that I should be to not be so snippy to her and rigid (yes, I need to relax). My resolution for her is that she needs to not be so forgetful. Then we have to make our own NYR. My resolution is to relax, lighten up, have fun and not take everything so seriously.
My secret NYR is to play a heck of a lot more poker. I have been playing NLHE for about a year (but played some sore of poker my whole life). I mostly play cash games and do pretty well. I had a mentoring session with an online cash game player and it was fantastic - completely changed my game. I recently took a SNG lesson and that was even more fantastic. My ROI was at like -40% before the lesson, then it moved way up to about +40%. I tried moving up a level or 2 and bubbled 4x and now my ROI is back down.
Where I need help: I need to adapt my cash game and SNG strategy that I learned for MTTs (and even fine tune my SNG play). I read HOH I and II along with other materials. I am a quick study. I just need to find the leaks and tighten up my play.
