Tuan Le has Barry Greenstein. David "Dragon" Pham has Men "the Master" Nguyen. Jamie Gold has Johnny Chan... If you could pick any pro poker player to have as your mentor, who would it be?
Phil Hellmuth was born in 1964 in Madison, Wisconsin, and has won 10 World Series of Poker Bracelets, including a main event win in 1989. He has been at 20 final tables at the World Series of Poker and won over 4 million dollars there.
For me it would have to be someone who created legendary status which resulted to them being referred by a single name(like Prince or Madonna). Looking at the requirement it could only be- YELTZEN!!!!!!
Granted that Phil Hellmuth is the greatest NLHE poker player alive -- just ask him -- and I too am from Wisconsin, but I think that I could learn the most from Daniel Negreanu. I'm sure that I'd have a great time as well.
Although I think Ivey is the "best" player, I don't think he'd be the guy I'd want as a teacher (would be kind of difficult to teach or learn his style of play). I would love to learn from Barry Greenstein.
