Chips: 3,046 | | | Chiptalk Hand of the Day Thread? I love reading the hand matchups each day on cardplayer.com, but I often feel like the hands and/or descriptions are not very exciting. Also, there seems to be a limited number so I have often already seen that day's hand.
I think it would be great if we could get a hand of the day with some comments, and discuss that hand. It could be a hand you saw on television, a hand you played at a cardroom, or a hand from your home game. Any thoughts? |

I have a hand from last night (I don't have the actual HH):
$.10/$.25
I am in the BB with KK.
3rd Pos - limps in.
Button - raises to $1.
I call.
3rd Pos - folds.
Flop: 3JA.
I bet $1.50.
Button goes all-in for about $6.
What do I do??? |

Chips: 5,913 | | | Re: Chiptalk Hand of the Day Thread? I don't like the call pf. You should be raising to drive out the limper if he has a weak A (probably to about $2.50-$3.00). You can also gain a better understanding of the raise based on his reaction to your reraise. If he only has $7 in front of him a pf call is already half of his stack, so on an A high board leading with a bet or calling an all in is totally read and player dependent.
As played I'm folding after he raises the flop lead. |

Chips: 5,846 | | | Re: Chiptalk Hand of the Day Thread? The no reraise PF is definitely questionable especially considering he's a tight player unless he only raises with AA on the button. The bet on the flop was weak (1/2 pot in EP) and some folks will simply reraise at the 1st sign of weakness. I either make a pot size bet out of the gate, check/fold to a bet or check/raise to confirm his A. Based on his tightness, I probably pot it and then fold to the all-in. |

Chips: 270 | | | Re: Chiptalk Hand of the Day Thread? I agree I probably played this wrong, but my read was complete tightness and I was 90% sure he had AA or AK. As for my bet on the flop, when I got popped I immediately said to myself that I didn't bet enough. This is one of my leaks that I am trying to fix. Only recently have I started to be more aggressive. |

Chips: 3,046 | | | Re: Chiptalk Hand of the Day Thread? I would be glad to do it. I guess people could PM me their hand of the day in some kind of format, and I would post them one at a time. If we run out I can pull one from TV, as there are always back to back WSOP episodes on late at night when I get back from work. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
