Chips: 5,913 | | | Hsp 9/5 I really feel for DN. I mean you can't help but think that eventually one of your big hands will hold up. I get pissed off when I get sucked out on for 15 bucks on Party, he's getting sucked out for thousands. That's just rough.
At the same time do you think he would ever make that call of Lindgren's all-in if he wasn't so mentally beat in this session? I gotta think if he's running good he lays that hand down.
thoughts? |

The fact that he was running bad contributed to his making that call, but I've seen Negreneau make a lot of really questionable calls out of sheer curiosity. His curiosity to know what the player has--resulting in his calling down with the losing hand--is his greatest weakness as a player, imho.
I am though a huge fan of DN. I am always blown away by how comfortable he appears at the poker table, like he was put on this earth to play poker.
It was very weird to see him so exasperated at the table. |

It was very weird to see him so exasperated at the table. | It would be one thing if he were calling down for information... but he already has the right read, and he's very sure of it. He's just calling down so that he can see he was right. I think that's just throwing money away. If your read is that you're beat, why are you calling unless you don't trust yourself? |

Chips: 5,913 | | | Re: Hsp 9/5 honestly I got the feeling that lindgren might even have showed if DN mucked considering how bad he was running. No reason to hide information there. Waiting to the river to make a big raise is fairly standard for quads that were a flopped set.
How about Elizera just dumping money to Lindgren with the KJ on a hand he had no business playing in the first place. I think he was calling 30 thousand to get 230 so in the end it was like 8-1, but it was still a terrible hand. What was he doing calling a raise and reraise with KJ and then not slowing down when Lindgren called a big bet on the flop? |

Of course, if he can make some hands, he's gonna get paid off even more at the river now, since everyone knows he's steaming. (i.e. that hand late against Elezera) |

But that's just my opinion. |

Chips: 5,913 | | | Re: Hsp 9/5 DN is definitely tilting. I have made some dumb calls in my time but no way I am calling an allin on that hand to Lindgren. So many hands are possible there...KT,QQ,JJ,A8,88,AA. All of them could be played that way although the KT is the least likely. But QQ,JJ,AA and A8 all might see a preflop call and then a call on the flop of the DN's relatively small bet. When you bet the whole way like that noone is going to raise all-in on the river with two pair. You gotta know your str8 is beat.
Good thing it seems he is cleaning up in the prop betting or he might really be on a short stack.
On a related note I read in his blog that DN is not going to be playing in the Big Game for awhile because he got stuck a million the last time he played. Said it was enough to put a dent in his roll and that if he ran bad like that for a couple of sessions it could really set him back.
any guess as to what kind of playing BR he has? My guess is about 3 million. |
