5) Decide how you are going to rebuy before you sit down. Personally, I'd take 5x buyins, rebuy before the cards are in the air, be prepared to double-buy again if neccesary and nearly always take the addon.

Oh, and make your must-have suckouts, have your good hands hold up, and hope to not get too unlucky. Thats it. (no pressure, really)

I played my first live casino tourney over the weekend, 50+10 w/1 rebuy and 15 min. levels.
74 players & I finished 9th. In the money. What did I learn? There were a lot of people there who couldn't play a game of tournament poker to save their lives. If you've played in a $10 online tourney and done even halfway decent, you'll be better than most at the casino game. Just pay attention and play better than average hands positionally and you can do fine. GL, and Have Fun.

Re: First Live Casino tourney! Advice? Got it done!
So I went and did it. Twice! Played the tourney I posted about with the rebuys. Thirty eight people and I finished about 16th. What a zoo! By the time we reached the add on it was 200-400 and everyone was still in. Never had to rebuy as I won early, but misplayed one hand and did myself in.
Next day I played thier no rebuy tourney. less of a zoo with 18 people. Made the final table and would have made the money but my pocket tens lost to 8-2 of diamonds. The guy already had 1000 chips in the pot, 500-1000 blinds and I was all in for 1500. The flop came three diamonds! One of my tens was a diamond so I still had some outs. Finished 6th and had a ball both times!!!
