Chips: 7,134 | | | Bankrolls Aight playas, good ol' yeltzen needs some help. I'm sure this has only been asked about 29358723094857 times, but what are the "typical" bankroll recommendations for:
Limit Hold'em - I know this one is 300X if the betting structure is Y/X
No Limit Hold'em - ??? Blinds are Y/X - Buyin is 100X
Seven Card Stud - ??? Betting structure is Y/X. All I know is it's more than the 300X of LHE.
Sit N' Go Tournaments - ??? Buyin is X
Thanks, ladies. |

So for a 1/2 game, i would buy in for 200-400. Sometimes there is a buyin limit of 100x BB, sometimes the buy-in max is a percentage of the largest stack. it seems to vary by state, house, casino

So if I'm going to play 1/2 NL, what should my bankroll be? In limit, my bankroll is 300BB, my individual buy-ins are 30BB. |

Stud 300BB is fine
SNGs - 30 to 50 buy ins

If "Pro" then twice that plus 6 months living expenses. This is so it will be nearly impossible to go broke, ever. I say nearly because there is still that remote chance. It will always be gambling. |

If you can play your "A" game with a short bankroll then go for it. Just know that you could go bust and will have to wait until you replenish it. |

But if I'm going to put the time and effort into playing it, then I want to do it seriously. Limit Stud and Hold'em are always going to be first, so NL will take a backseat unless I fall into some money I can burn. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
