Seat 8: dyingbreed folded on the 3rd Street (didn't bet)

Let me preface this by saying that I am a complete newb when it comes to H/L and I only play stud once in a great while in a home game.

That said, my question is this.....

After Seitz called the 2000 bet on 4th street, why would Jrot continue to bet on 5th and 6th? Seitz is showing A,4 and calling which tells me he prob has the low end going. as well as a potential wheel. It appears, by the board that jrot only has high hand potential. So unless Seitz doesn't qualify his low hand, all jrot can hope for is a split. If Seitz hits his wheel, he will bust jrot. So why would jrot want to sweetin the pot?

Again, I apologize if this is obvious just struck me as odd so late in the tourney.

Nah - just a bad play by the opponent.

This is one of those Stud8 situations that I love.

On 6th, seitz knew for sure that he had 1/2 of the pot in the can. This is a great feeling with 3 players in a pot, since you know that your only job is to see how much of the chips that you can get the middle. HU - it is still good to jam if you have a shot at them folding or you pulling a high hand out of the hat. Seitz did a good job of bein paitent with his hand and extracting maximum value. A raise earlier may scare off a marginal high hand (like if he did not have JJ in the hole).
