I did it! I layed down poket Kings.

$1/3 No limit

I was at the table about 20 min, and I wake up to a pair of Kings that was raised $5 to $8. Something doesn't feel right about the raise that was usually $20 pre-flop from this guy. Plus I wan't more callers, but I want to indicate strength here if an Ace falls. So, I raise to $15.

No callers to original raiser: He shakey hand bets $98. Folds to me.

The poker source is with me and I sense enormous power from this guy. It was unreal. I tell him I have a good hand and that I need a moment.

Here is some of the dialog that I was able to coax out of him. (Which is a second sign of strength that I've seen.)

Me: Thats a big bet, you must have a really good hand
Him:
M: Well I think if I play this hand I need to push it all in.
H: If you push I promise I'll call.
M: Really? If I fold will you show me?
H: No.
H: Well maybe, I'll show you half of it. Maybe, if you buy me a Grey Goose.
M: Wow that means you have a really good hand, huh?
H:
H: I'm just going to blow this and leave.
M: I fold.
H: Winces

YES!

I know I was indicating a lot too, and It was an error to show my cards. But I really felt that he had Aces. I need to be 100% certain he has aces to fold kings but I never feel 100% on any hand except this one.

Re: I did it! I layed down poket Kings.

I think if you *know* he has AA, and you're both sitting on stacks of around 500 before the action starts, it's a call, no?

My very shady and fuzzy math: 7 times call $83, and fold on the flop ($581)

1 time call and stack the guy for pot of $200 + 400. EV = +19.

This is not taking into account flopping both an A and a K, nor if slim chance you don't stack him when you flop a K, nor many other variables.

I just got back from a marathon session myself, so I'm not in a clear state of mind.

Re: I did it! I layed down poket Kings.

from that play, I think I might have called. I would have guessed AK. If no ace flops then you would push and hope he missed, if he had qs or lower your golden.

Re: I did it! I layed down poket Kings.

I had put this down in between "less/greater than" symbols so it didn't post. But after he winced he showed POCKET ACES!

I had $300 pre-flop and he has about $500.
