5 card draw
i played a whole night of 5 card draw NL tourny. 3 tables of 5... rebuys first 90-min. & add ons post = execute players after that..... with $10 bounty chips for each player - payable after the 90-min break, unless bounty was chopped - then both players were paid immediately.
i play holdem & omaha well.
i simply knew the crowd & understood that they haven't played 5 card draw either.
anyone else play 5 card draw often?
i did well, played position semi-tight, but also played early, and/or feigning my number of draw cards & betting again. 2nd place via chop. my dad was 3rd, so he can pay me back now
i hate playing cards like that. its definately a bluffing game, you just need to watch how many / how well they're raising and taking pots vs you playing cards w/ pot odds, nuts? i tried to remain consistent against the game. i snooker'd most players with a 0 or 1 draw, raise, raise.
its hard to bet against a 0 or 1 (binary) card draw vs. a 2/3/4 card draw.
thats what i played, but there has to be more strategy to 5 card draw. any good non-micro limit 5 card draw books?

This custom ChipTalk link is built to show you only the real deal: Casino quality poker chips; Not the plastic chips that some sellers call "clay."

Re: 5 card draw
We typically hold a holdem tourney (most popular game, so everyone will show up) then afterwards we play 20 minute rounds of cards dealers choice based on finish order of HE tourney (1st place picks first game and so on). There is always at least one round of 5 draw and Matthew most likely chooses it because he's the luckiest person in the world in that game. We play $1-$3 limit, Matt busted my 3 Kings hard one night when he was holding a pair of queens and drew Q,8,8 (I think that was the hand...Matt might refresh my memory).... That game is brutal, there's a decent section in Super system (not tourney though).
I can't decide if I like that game or not... I think I'm up playing draw, but there are a few big hands I've lost that may have me in the negative.

NL 5 Card Draw?
In a lose crowd, probably a wild game. In a tight crowd, a snooze fest.
We play it now and then but not too much. Usually, Aces to Low (AA or better to open, if no openers, play it for the low hand A-5), Jacks or better progressive (JJ or better to open, no openers, re-ante, QQ to open now, etc) and some Triple Draw (not 5Draw but close)

The action really starts when it's a Royal Flush or better to open.

Re: 5 card draw
When I first started playing on-line I played 5 card stud on Paradise, they didn't have sit-n-go's so I left 'em.

Is there a certain point in this game that you just give up and are force to play normal 5-card draw? I haven't played enough 5CD to know how often these hands come up, but it seems like you could get to the point where it's really hard to open.

Super/System 1 has a section on draw poker, I believe.
