I often forget I only play two of them as well, but usually after I lose a big pot due to this oversight it sticks with me the rest of that game.

Considering top pair wins in Omaha one out of every 20 hands, I'd fold without hesitation. No straight or flush possibilities. The only way you can win with quads in the hole, is if the board makes a set.
So if you hold QQQQ, and the board goes 3 3 3 J 5. Beware even then, you could lose to 4 of a kind, someone with a 3 in the hole.
Never play quads in omaha ever. If it's 2-handed, I'd fold 4 queens pre-flop. No straight, flush, no set, you're virtually dead unless your opponent miraceously doesn't make a pair.
edit*, I knew JoJo knew he didn't have quads, we played that the CT omaha side tourney together last night. my post is a joke, too. omaha's my favorite game behind hold'em.

Chips: 18,495 | | | Re: PLO super-low level strat question dude, i don't think you get it. quads are very strong. they're only beaten by bigger quads (as if someone had KKKK or AAAA, please!), a straight flush, or a royal flush.
so i'm supposed to play quads carefully now? on what planet? Quote: |

Chips: 1,845 | | | Re: PLO super-low level strat question I don't know man. I see quads. And since no one can have a straight flush yet, you've got the 3rd nut. You've got to put a massive re-raise in there to see where you stand. The chance is so small that someone else has KKKK or AAAA. I think folding was a weak play here jojo and I hope you continue that weak play tomorrow night! Do I really need to put this in here? ---> | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
