Please help me interpret Poker Tracker player rating

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but would someone who is familiar with Poker Tracker player ratings help me interpret this rating? Is this good or bad? Thanks.

VP$IP 38.74, PFR 7.82, AF-TOT 0.90

That's borderline "very loose" preflop. Also fairly passive postflop.
Is this limit or no limit? If it's limit, the VP$IP is just horrible... in no-limit it's okay if that's part of your playing style. The postflop aggression is pretty bad regardless.

Re: Please help me interpret Poker Tracker player rating

you can't win with those numbers.

cut your vpip in half and double your aggression, and you'll be getting there.

but the numbers are only a symptom. tell us more about the games you play and why you think you play the way you do.

I just started playing .10/.25 NL on PartyPoker. The stats above are from roughly 1000 hands so far.

1k hands is kind of a small sample size to base too much on.

Also, what is your WSD% and W$SD%?

Re: Please help me interpret Poker Tracker player rating

The 1000 hands is a VERY small sample but I just started playing and was curious what the stats mean at this point, with this small sampling.

My WSD% is 21.85% and my W$SD% is 60%.

Re: Please help me interpret Poker Tracker player rating

Way too small a sample size, but like yeltzen wrote, you're limping way too much. You should be going to showdown a little more, and winning it a little less. The reason you aren't going to showdown enough is that you are folding your garbage hands after the flop. You're winning too much at showdown because you are folding a few too many marginal hands, which again is a symptom of playing too many hands PF.

Re: Please help me interpret Poker Tracker player rating

I'm not that familiar with NL but player with the same PT stats as yours are the ones that keep adding to my bankroll. At full 8-10 player table. My vp$ip is about 20%, pfr 7%, af 1.7

I think even for 6 max table your vi$ip is too hi. Also be more agressive after the flop, don't be scare to bet out or raise.

Having say the above, don't just do those things to make PT stats look good but try to learn more so that you are doing the right things and the PT stats will fall into line. If you just try to play so that the stats look good, mostly likely you will lose.

Re: Please help me interpret Poker Tracker player rating

Stats are helpful, but the only stat that really matters is the one called your bankroll; the higher the better.
