Chips: 396 | | | When a Player Protects his Cards.... What Does That USUALLY Mean?? In this NL $20 buyin cash game I play at there is one dickhead who thinks he's Doyle Jr and should comment on everyone else's game and plays and what they are doing. He's always right, etc , etc.
Super tight ass, only plays good hands, not sure about his bluffing capacity, but I dont believe he has any as he always has his chips neatly stacked, counted out, he only comes to win money when everyone is is there to play. The other players are not bad but they dont care about the $20, they'll call with 2 pair when straights are out just beacuse they want to see whats out there. Its not a reckless game by any means, just a friendly one.
So Mr Tight Ass is in a hand with a couple others and right after Tighty bets, he takes his left hand and scoots his hand a little closer to himself.
Am I reading too much into this or did he have a monster? He ended up showing one 9 to the other player when everyone else folded on teh river, but there was a 10 and a Q on board so I'm pretty sure he had pocket 9's.
He's teh defintion of passive and tight.
So what is your read on the dickhead? | | Sponsored Links | |

I am alsways trying to mix up my actions. One thing I usually don't do - because it gets me in trouble - is talk. |

they'll hold chips in their hand to bet/call, or get ready to fold way in advance. it's a beautiful thing. |

IMO, the problem with fake tells is the same problem as you describe with talking...smart players can figure out the patterns. it's why so many pros are stone-faces...the less signals you let off, the less there is to read.
good poker players are smart. when we try to act unpredictably, they can see through the BS and figure out what the pattern is. then they act in ways that make us uncomfortable.
so patternless is the the ideal. it's not as fun as acting unpredictably, but it's more profitable for most of us... | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
