Not really a strategy hand I guess although breaking down hands is always fun. This game is much more fun to play when you have to chips available to take some speculative flops.
Situation: Basically a SnG, 10 players, no rebuys, 1500 starting stack.
We're at blinds of 25-50, 8 players left I think, I have a little more than 3000 in chips.
In the BB I'm dealt

Folded around the CO who standard raises to 150. Most of these guys were from my regular game, so I know them and their styles pretty well. The CO is a solid player, but pretty tight. I'm reasonably certain he's got a decent starting hand and isn't trying anything here. The blinds aren't big enough to be worth stealing and he isn't close to desperation either.
Normally I'd probably toss this hand and move on. Especially since I also normally don't have as many chips as I now do. But since the blinds are still fairly light and I am the chip leader, I decide to take a flyer and call.
My thinking was this, I should if nothing else have 2 live cards, but more than that, if my hand does hit, there's no way he puts me on something like 34s. I'm pretty tight also and he knows that this isn't a hand I would normally even mess around with. If it misses, which it usually will, I toss it post-flop and move on.
All right, 325 in the pot and the flop comes:

JACKPOT!!! The dream situation.
I check, he bets out 300. This is going well! I think for a bit and raise 600 to 900. He goes into the tank and mutters, "You have a 3? There's no way you would play a 3!" After a few minutes he pushes back all-in for 725 more. After the speech, it's an easy call for me. He doesn't have AA and he doesn't have a better 3. At this point, everything adds up to AK. I call and he does show AK.
Turn and river blank out and I'm up near 5000 in chips and well on my way.
Just a fun hand for me obviously. It seems like in most tournies I play, by round 3 or 4 you're always stuck with a rapidly shrinking M and you can't afford to get a little "creative". I'd love to play more deep stack tournies, but at the same time, I don't want my home games dragging on for 6-7 hours each time either. Especially for those ocassions where I'm an early exit and can't exactly kick everyone out! It's just hard to find a good balance there.
