Player interview (like I really care about some 15-minutes-of-fame-pro's thoughts on life) every issue, worthless ball-fondling from their every-issue pros (one pro talks about how great another pro is while talking about a hand they beat their ass in), stupid articles from some dolt who thinks he has a PhD in psychology rambling on and on about cognitive this and cognitive that like anyone cares. The only thing remotely entertaining is the few and far between articles about the stupid things players do in live games. The strategy articles aren't very good... they're short so they never really talk about the subject in detail. They're almost always about "the worst mistake you can make" which changes every issue. Very little (if any) talk about games other than Hold'em. Tons of advertising.
I pretty much skim through it to see who won all of the events and then ruin it for anyone who wants to watch WPT or WSOP shows. Then I pitch it. |

I recognise that magazines cater to their advertisers and many times will create articles that feature one of their advertisers' products/services. However, Bluff is so annoyingly blatant at it. Every left-hand page is an article that directly ties into the full page ad on the right-hand page.
I get far more infornmation about the world of poker from online forums like here and 2+2. |

simplified tips....if you want a dissertation thesis on the art of bluffing/betting/losing/winning, then buy a hot damn book....
what do you expect from a magazine? a 7 page write up on how to play pocket jacks? com'on now, its a condensed version...
and if you expect a detailed description in a magazine, then your perspective is so skewed it wouldnt matter what they put in it...
i read woman poker player or whatever its called the other day and the title describes it all...nuff said....
bluff? i got the first issue and it was ....ack.....
i enjoy discussing more with folks who have been there and play regularly...so i kick it with old fogies and low life social security spenders at the casino and yap about their experiences....
and my folks of course...we talk a lot about our hands and plays.....
my nickel,

The articals are available online at the website. THere is nothing new in the magazine thats not online except the advertising, and the tourny results and times in the back. |

I typically get most of the poker oriented magazines that come out around here, on my list every week is...
Cardplayer
All in
Bluff
Poker Pro
Canadian Poker Player (really up and down for quality of content) |
