Chips: 13,254 | | | To bluff, or not to bluff? Here's a tricky one on the river:
FullTiltPoker Game #197863599: Table Lamont (6 max) - $1/$2 - No Limit Hold'em - 2005/08/27
Seat 1: mrdixon ($177.35)
Seat 2: Mechanique ($312.85)
Seat 3: fergpm ($59.35)
Seat 5: SpeakEasy ($336.55)
Seat 6: THE ROC ($205.70)
THE ROC posts the small blind of $1
mrdixon posts the big blind of $2
The button is in seat #5
Read: Villain in this hand is fairly solid. Not wild and loose, not too tight. Seems like a solid player for a 6-seat table.
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to SpeakEasy
Mechanique calls $2
fergpm folds
SpeakEasy calls $2
THE ROC calls $1
mrdixon checks
*** FLOP ***
Pot is $8 :
THE ROC checks
mrdixon checks
Mechanique bets $8
SpeakEasy calls $8
THE ROC folds
mrdixon folds
*** TURN ***
Pot is $24
Mechanique bets $24
SpeakEasy calls $24
*** RIVER ***
Pot is $72
Mechanique bets $50
Pot is $122. Villain has $228 left, I have $302. What do you think Villain has? What's your move? |

Chips: 7,134 | | | Probably has A10/A9/A7 since he was trying to force you out so hard with pot-sized bets. Unless this is the kind of person that bets flush draws aggressively (doesn't seem like he does according to your read). Also doesn't seem like the kind of person who'd bet the pot with a pair of 6s or 8s. |

I think a reraise would have been the best thing to do there to feel the player out see how he reacts to your over the top move.
As for what he has in the whole well I would put him on A,X. Thing that I would be thinking is why the pot size bets untill the river then a lesser bet on the last better street. Is he hoping for a reraise and tring to show alittle weekness, or does he feel that hes beat and knows you will call anybet that he makes and is to scared to go all in with the hopes that you will fold.
Its kinda hard to tell off of one hand as to what he might have. Since you have been playing at the table with him for a bit you would know or have a good idea of the hands he has been playing and how he has been playing them.
maybe I just look to deep into things lol |

But in real life I wouldn't be thinking about what you had I'd just be betting my A10 and see if you beat me. |

I'm sure SpeakEasy's image was the same, so there's no way the villian puts him on a straight or flush draw calling down pot sized bets. Unless it's 7c 9c I suppose.
I think if SpeakEasy reraises all in on the river, villian will fold Ax a strong majority of the time. Cold calling pot sized bets and then betting strong on the river could easily mean AA, 88 or A6 here. |
