I'm thinking I'm going to the no limit table this time, too many chasers in limit. Last time on my last hand before I left I had AK suited and hit AK on the flop, I kept raising and another guy kept calling, suffice to say he hit a flush on the river and busted me for a big pot. No-limit I wonder if he would have chased had I been able to go all-in. We'll find out this time.... | If you can handle the bankroll requirements - play the 3/6 at the Mirage. The 2/4 games are usually no foldem holdem where you run into too many players that hold on to anything. Hard to make any profit in a weekend as you will not be able to play that game for the "long term". The Mirage had many 3/6 tables going. While the average player was decent- there were still many fish swimming. Easier for that top pair to hold up with 2-3 chasers instead of 4+. |

Chips: 7,134 | | | I still have trouble understanding why people would play poker in a casino for their main poker play. I think online poker just blows away the casino game. I think casino poker is a good backstop if you're not doing very well in other casino games because it's slow and very hard to lose a lot of money if you play with half a brain. But as a main attraction it makes little sense when you can play online and not tip, have a smaller rake, and get in more hands.
The sit'n'gos charged a 10-20% fee!! WTF?!?! |

Chips: 18 | | | I played the $4/$8 at Bellagio last time I was in Vegas and thought it was a very balanced game. Most people played the "correct" way. It was actually the lowest limit in the Bellagio poker room.
Actually saw a few pros there playing a $200/$400 game, I was amazed at the amount of money on the table.... stacks and stacks of checks..... =) |

The sit'n'gos charged a 10-20% fee!! WTF?!?! | Many players like the live aspect of the game. At the low limits I play at - there is a much more social aspect to the game (we are talking 3/6 here) when playing live. Also - it is MUCH easier to spot the "fish" live. Unless you are on stars - the generic icons for players do not give you much of a visual impression for your memory. You can take notes - but the players online turn over pretty quick sometimes, so you may not get a decent impression. Live- I was able to tell within 2 rotations at the table who was a player and who was simply recreational.
There are DEFINATE benefits to online play. In many cases - you will be able to make more cash there. But - there are more smaller edges that you can game being face to face. |

Chips: 2,131 | | | I suck at online, but am less sucky live. I believe that the "human" element definitely is a factor in my play. I pick up on tells, both consciously (and subconsciously I think), and tend to be very chatty and try to give a "fun-loving-just-here-to-drink-do-they-allow-blind-straddles-here" impression. But I continue to play tight-aggressive (at least I think I do, between the scotch & sodas). Buuut, the rake is atrocious in some places, so it can be only a break even proposition sometimes. At least I can have some fun for free. |

I want to take the casino's money when I'm in a casino. |

Chips: 111 | | I don't play live because it is rigged. In one session I had nut full house beaten by quads and then later in same session I had str8 flush beaten by higher str8 flush.
I now play only online because those kinds of things don't happen. |

Chips: 7,134 | | | I tend to only play live poker if I'm having a horrible week at the casino and I need to stop the bleeding. It takes a long time to lose $200 in poker when you fold 99% of your hands. |

Chips: 1,035 | | | I've been seeing an unbelievable losing streak in online, but at least it's o2/o4 or o5/1o - maybe .25s NOT 3/6, 5/10 etc...
you don't find so many low-limit games north of Vegas in a brick and mortar joint
