Funny buy-in stories

Normally Sunday tournies are 10-20 NL Hold'em - with unlimited rebuys until lvl 3 and usually a side ring game of $3-$6 - whatever.

Tonight..... My dad, hits the ATM before the game, remembers he has to buy stamps, decides to buy 20 packs of stamps - BUT THOUGHT he was buying 20 stamps - immediately overdrawing his checking account.

I laughed all the way to the game - no cash, only stamps to play with, & he was starting the night off overdrawn by 5 books of stamps.

The house let him buy-in with stamps.??!?.. !!! & we ended up using the stamp packs as $1000 plaque chips... he took 3rd & still had about 12 books left... still down.

i dunno, i've never played with books of stamps as plaques(cash).. winning scratch tickets - yes.. stamps?

one of the funniest buy-ins & payouts i've witnessed.

The part that killed me was when the ATM started spitting out book after book of stamps & the crushing moment when he realized what was happenning.

I thought ATM's were programmed not to allow purchases that overdraw the user's account. WTH???

Heck, I've never heard of or seen an ATM that sold stamps! Which bank provides that kind of service? Or is it a regional thing?

I love it when I let someone overdraw against me and I get paid.
