Funny hand from last home game

We're playing NL Ohama. .25-.50 blinds.
UTG, i raise to $2 with Kh 10h Jc 8c
My friend calls from late position with Jd Ad 9c 8s
Everyone else folds.
Flop comes Qh 9h X
I send in a bet of $3
he raises $4.
I call.
Turn comes Js.
I put him all in (about $8-$10)
He thinks for a while and calls.
He has 2 pair. I have a ton of draws.
River is Jh.
He immediately yells out full house and starts acting relieved, and i just sat their quiet and kept reading the board, and noticed i had made my straight flush. He was pretty pissed. But he was the one that was drawing on the river. Anyway, i thought it was a funny story. Ended the night a $52 winner.

I hope your game gives out bad beat prizes. I'm never happy to lose with a boat no matter the circumstances.

nope, no bad beat prizes. Just a straight up cash game. But recently, since some of my friends are cheap we do something we call a 2x cash. We play .25-.50 blinds. And since most people only want to put $10 at stake, we get $20 in chips. Once we are done, we divide our chip stacks by 2 to cash out. It works out surprisingly well. I just wish everyone would bite the bullet and buy in $25 or so to play .25-.50. It sucks having a $3100 roll, not being able to play online, and being stuck playing $10 buyins. Ok, ill stop bitching.

at first, he was REALLY pissed and thought it was a bad beat, but since i was ahead going to the river, it wasnt. I explained it to him, and he eventually understood. Funny hand though.

Wait...I could use smoore's emoticon play-by-play method...

preflop: you him:

flop: you him

turn: you: him:

river (before realization): you him

river: (after realization): you him ........

post-hand (after explanation): you: him

MAN I AM BORED!!

There, that should do it...I assume you felt like when you made the straight.

yeah, i was glad i made the straight, and put him on 2 pair, and he isnt very smart of a player, and thought he would call an all in with 2 pair, and he did. And if he had the straight too, which i doubted, i had a flush draw just in case.

If I held the losing hand - I think that the part I'd have had the biggest problem with is that there were two 9h in the deck. LOL
