Last night an impromptu game started up so I wandered over to my buddies' house. The usual suspects, and only one of the actual good players (the host), HOT DAMN! he's drunk!
So I sit and buy in for the regular $20. 7 handed. I played 25 or 30 hands and didn't drag ONE pot bigger than stealing the blinds (once). Very depressing. One of the fish gets JJ against my TT. There was an A & K on the flop so there wasn't much action, just me betting out 2/3 the pot and him calling. Checked down and he takes it. I wouldn't have been able to get him to lay down his jacks.
I knew it was time to leave when I pick up AA in the SB and make it 3x to go. BB (drunk host) calls me, flop comes 3A4 rainbow. I check it to him, he bets $3... I call. Turn J, I didn't get a chance to act and he bets out $3 again so I push my last $13. You got it right, he had 25o for the straight on the flop. River didn't pair the board so I took it on the arches and boogied on home.
Hopefully the game after the bar tourney tonight is kinder to me.
