Final hand in live tourney...AA --no good sir.
Down to final 9 in a $100 bi local tourney. 7 is bubble guy.
I have M=12===UTG+1
UTG M=14--tight player especially early.
BB M=not sure but had the table tarped. Is some girl who either acted like it was her 1st time playing or was her first time playing got AI with trash and came out on top twice in last hour and knocked 2 of the bigger stacks out.
Blinds are 2k/4k.--no ante's.
UTG limps for 4k.
I have AA and figure UTG may not call shove but I may induce shove so I raise to 12k hoping BB calls but folds to UTG's shove.
As expected BB calls.(loose is an understatement.)
UTG tanks for like 3 minutes then folds showing AKs. I was beside myself he didn't shove or at the very least call, I had been raising a good bit in the last few orbits taking down pots so I thought it was perfect spot for this play. I was praying he had a big hand that he was sucking someone(me) into raising with so he could shove over top and take down the pot. I was his Huckleberry but he couldn't pull the trigger. How you get down that low in chips and start folding AKs seems crazy to me.
So now Im thinking well I have AA against crazy b1tch whats the worse that can happen. I go ahead and shove in the dark(Im pretty much pot committed to any flop), she had no idea what I meant and as flop cards were coming out folks explained it her and she said..yea me too AI in the dark.
She has 53h...flops FD and Rivers flush....I get up with my tail between my legs remembering why I hate tourneys and hit the cash table.
I still think I made a better play then just shoving there. I was pretty sure she would have folded and obvs UTG would have also if I originally went AI. Oh well sometimes AA PF just isn't good enough.
