Bad Beat on Friday

Just sounding off on a bad beat, nothing more, nothing less. I was just surprised at the weak out of position Shove.

I was playing in a regular neighborhood tourney. There were about 70ish people playing. I was pretty happy with my play, not getting cards but making good plays where appropriate and playing position.

We get down to the final table with 10 people, top 9 get paid. Blinds are $6K / $3K with $1K antes. My chip stack is aroung $55K and this is the third hand at the final table.

Two under the gun open shoves all in for about $130K. I've played with her numerous times and she is usually a fairly decent player. I am next to act and look down at KK. I immediately call. Dealer looks, thinks, then says all in. He is a very good player and has the original better covered. She calls. He shows QQ, I have KK and the original bettor has AJ suited.

Flop is A 10 J, turn A, river 3. I'm done.

Like I said, I'm just sounding off but hate going out on the bubble like that. I still don't know why she would shove with AJ, there were two stacks behind her with bigger stacks and it was very out of character. Unfortunately, the card gods felt the need to reward it. UGGH.
