Whats the worst POKER offense that you witnessed at a home game?
Played my regular $25 freezeout tourney last nite and some noobs continually announced "Check" when they were actually "calling". Also, one player had about 30-$100 chips and a few $500 chips and continually "had to make change" when she posted the blinds at 100, 200, 300....instead of just putting in the friggin black 100's. She said, and i quote......I like my black chips better than my purples........no joke. Interested to hear anyone else's

Re: Whats the worst POKER offense that you witnessed at a home game?
Great idea for a thread. I've witnessed a lot of poker atrocities, but think the worst is definitely the when players show their cards to others who are out of the hand, but give them advice on play and hosts do nothing about it. This happens fairly often in one of the home games that I play in and it makes me nuts.

Re: Whats the worst POKER offense that you witnessed at a home game?
My game is usually the same players who all know each other and are pretty good friends. We probably play 20 times a year, with one weekend every year where we go to a very rustic cabin and play poker the entire weekend. Loads of fun.
Last month the following happened. Player A had been catching cards all night and hitting a ton of flops. It was just his night. He isn't known as a good player (plays hands you wouldn't recommend most people playing). Player B is a relatively good player, but is known to bluff big, and has some tells that a few of us can read. We are playing a tourney and I can't remember the exact cards that were played. The point is that Player B went all in with nothing, hoping Player A believed he hit the flush. Player A later said he had a read on Player B, but called him with bottom pair (4s or something like that). Starting hands were something like: Player A - J4; Player B - A10.
As you may imagine, Player B was a bit ticked by being called in the first place with such a poor starting hand, but then that he lost an all in to a bottom pair that could have easily been folded. Player B berated player A. I can't believe you called my preflop raise with that... I can't believe you called an all in with bottom pair. Sure I was bluffing, but how could you call that... yada, yada, yada...
Player A handled it well, just sitting quietly. Eventually after a good 5 minutes of this, player A had enough and said, "I'll enjoy spending your money at lunch tomorrow, thanks."
Player B couldn't contain himself and blurted "I enjoyed f***ing your wife last night!"
Ummm... awkward... Thankfully they are good friends (don't know how they can be with comments like that). I was expecting someone to throw punches, but it didn't come to that.
But that is the worse offense I have witnessed.

OUR home game: .50/$1.00 cash NLHE.
This hand is limited down to *Douche* vs. my wife, who can tilt easy.
*Douche* wins this good sized hand, (maybe $70) heads up against her, (he out kicked her on a pair of Aces, he has a Q and she has a 10) and jumps up, kicking his chair backwards, and declares, "I put you on that hand! I am the best poker player at this table! In your face! Now who wants to stake me for the WSOP!?"

The guy beside me (who had folded his hand) picked up my hand and looked at my hole cards while they were live and my opponent was deciding on calling my bet. Closest I've been to a fight in a poker game ever.

cdnmoose, that is ridiculous. probably shoulda popped him, but you're probably too classy. I wanted a quick post, so i didn't mention that people were complaining about how "competitive" some players were at the table. I quickly jumped in and said, "Why WOULDN'T you want to be competitive?" I mean, if you're not in it to win it, then why bother......Im not implying that you have to flip into Hulk-mode when you're outraced by a horrible hand, but you should AT LEAST care if you're gonna play.

Re: Whats the worst POKER offense that you witnessed at a home game?
There are quite a few situations at my home games that are uncalled for, but one of the worst I remember still ticks me off when I think about it. I flop the nut flush in our .25/.50 NL cash game, bet and get called. Turn card gives the villian a straight, and we end up getting all the money in. He has exactly one out to win, 5d for a straight flush. River is the standard 5d, and I lose a pot with about $150. A player not involved in the hand then comments on how I suck at poker, and it was all I could do to not reach across the table and strangle him to death. He may have been right, but that was not the time for the comment

Re: Whats the worst POKER offense that you witnessed at a home game?
I think the worst thing I have seen, was last year at a home poker tourny I was all in preflop with QQ. I got one caller. We flip our cards he shows his AJ and I show my QQ. The person dealing decides unbeknownst to us to show what he mucked and turns over his AJ. Everyone at the table, thinking he dealt the first cards of the flop, goes nuts, the guy who called is celebrating, I am cursing my bad luck. The dealer then tells us he was just showing what he folded. We almost had to pull my opponent off the guy. He deals the flop, turn, and river, my QQ holds up and I double up crippling my opponent.
This incedent showed poor judgement on the dealer's part.

Re: Whats the worst POKER offense that you witnessed at a home game?
One time I flopped quad aces and rivered a royal flush and won exactly $0.10 on the hand. Really, that was my only royal flush ever and I am very offended.
