Funny moment last night

Was playing in a very tight 5/10 NL game last night where there was no action for long stretches of time. The line up was so bad the floor walked by and made a joke about how a big hand might get $20 in it from the group at the table.

Right after that comment there was a heads-up pot that reached $400-500 by the turn on a board of A6J Q rainbow. The river brought another 6 and it went check-check. Both players looked embarrased to show their cards and the first to act ends up tossing his in the muck and saying "I'm sure you have it, I have 10 high." The other player sheepishly rolls over his cards to accept the pot with his 89hh. A minute later he tells the table "I wasn't trying to be an a**-hole, I was just seeing if my cards played on that board."

Ouch, tossing half a pot.
My worst move was folding an ace when two players went crazy when the river paired the board a second time, only to see the two split the pot with 2 pair and a king kicker (I would have had an ace kicker)

Was that game at a WA casino? if so which one, I use to play at a few up there before I moved.

Tulalip. They had three 5/10 games going last night. Two of them were incredibly juicy action games and I couldn't get moved off of the tightest table I have ever played at there.

Re: Funny moment last night

The guy that won a showdown with a 9 high playing the board was the only player giving any action at all, and it was little and far between. It was not a good game at all!

Lets just say this was the biggest pot of the night:

3 bet to 175 pf by Mr 9 high (from SB). Called by young fairly agro (BTN).

Flop AAQ

Mr 9 check.

BTN bets 175

Mr 9 call

Turn J

Mr 9 check

BTN bets 400

Mr 9 calls

River K

Mr 9 bets 300

BTN makes crying call.

Showdown:

Mr 9 pocket AA
YFA pocket QQ

BIggest pot of the night in a $1500 buy-in 5/10 was only $2k with a flopped quad aces over q's full of aces.
