Nice! Congrats on the score.
The one time I was part of a Bad Beat Jackpot was at the old Gold River in Laughlin, about 11 or 12 years ago. I was still a young poker noob, and Stud was the game of choice (Texas what?) at the time. During that session there were several 'almost' BB hands, and we were constantly reminded by the dealer that we couldn't talk to other players about possibly hitting ("do you have it?" "I might have it"..."Put enough in the pot to qualify"). I'm not sure why, but apparently the Floormen had disqualified potential jackpot hands in the past due to "collaborating".
I ended up losing to quad 9's with my quad 4's. The jackpot was about $6k, so I took $3k, loser took 1.5k, table split the remaining 1.5k. I was so jazzed that I bought the table a round of champagne, and tipped the dealer $20.
Of course it hasn't happened since, but I keep trying....
