Witnessed 2nd Worse Possible Bad Beat

Was in A/C this past week at Borgata and witnessed an unbelivable hand.

Here's how it went down.

Game: $1/$2 NL. The guy to my right just got felted the hand before and rebought for $200. On his first hand after the rebuy he raises to something like $20 UTG+1. I fold and the guy to my left pops it up another $40. I don't remember the rest of the betting but they get it all in what turns out to a $400 pot.

Here's where it gets crazy.

The guy to my right flips over Qs, Js (yup, he went all in the suited JQ!)
Guy to my left turns over Kd, Kc

Flop comes 10s, Kh, 9d -
The table makes a little noise because the nut with JQ flops a straight and looks like he's cracked the K's

Turn comes Ks -
The table gets even louder and people are high fiving the guy who just hit the quads. A few people then realize the guy with the JQs has an open ended straight flush draw with Royal Flush possibilities, someone at the table yells it out and the table got really quiet as we waited for the dealer.

River comes - you guessed it As and the table goes crazy.

I felt sorry for the guy who lost. Not only did he drop $200, he also had to listen to people talk about the hand for hours after it happened. To make it even worse some guy at the table kept harping on the fact the he would have won a fortune if they had a bad beat jackpot.

Holy crap. That's unreal. Pretty cool that you got to witness it though!

Re: Witnessed 2nd Worse Possible Bad Beat

Wow that would have been awesome to see. Worst ive seen is Ace 4 versus 84 (both blinds and saw flop with no raise) allin on flop of - Ace 4 4. Turn 8 and everyone started calling for it. River 8 and the bloke with Ace 4 unintentually hit the underneath of the table with his knees (when he saw the river) so hard that everyones chip stacks splashed everywhere. The bloke was so embarrased he didnt care about the beat.

Re: Witnessed 2nd Worse Possible Bad Beat

A lot of people complain about the borg not having a bad beat jackpot. At some places, the whole table gets paid, so the op lost out as well.

Re: Witnessed 2nd Worse Possible Bad Beat

You probably won't believe it but I beat a SF with a RF at Bellagio... Not a bad beat... just a cooler for the guy with 8s9s. The worst part was hearing about the huge jackpots everywhere but bellagio. Oh well, still a great memory if not a payday

Re: Witnessed 2nd Worse Possible Bad Beat

Reminds me of this personal experience (copied from another forum from when it happened):

So I was playing in a homegame recently and a the following hand occured. It does include a bad beat, but thats not why I'm posting, simply because the hand was facinating to me.

So in early position I get dealt in a .50/$1 game and make a standard raise to $4 and get 3 callers. I have about $180 in front. The flop comes out . Woot! Quads. I'm first to act and I bet out $6 making a small continuation bet hoping to get action from someone with a draw, the 9 or another pocket pair thinking I'm just C-betting with AK. One player calls, and the next guy raises to $26. Perfect. The other player folds, I call and the caller folds. Now its heads up to the turn and the turn is the . Pot is at $74. I check and he bets $30. I go into the tank for a moment to sell my hand and then raise to $60. He beats me into the pot all in and I break my wrists getting my chips in to call him. He has me covered by about $15. I announce Quads and open my hand. He shows me for the flopped open ended straight flush draw on the flop and a turned straight. He's got two outs to make a straight flush.

At this point the dealer is about to finish up the hand and the other guy asks him to wait. He starts wailing about wanting to run it twice. Normally I don't like to do this but considering the position I'm in I didn't really care and just wanted him to STFU so I say ok. The dealer burns and puts the first river card out and its the . The table erupts as he hits a straight flush to win half the pot. By this point I'm ******* elated because I let him run it twice I'm still going to get half the pot for what would have been a really ugly suckout. The table is just starting to come down and the dealer burns and the river card is the .
