Re: here's a doozie

Sorry to post this but these threads are getting ridiculous.

Everyone loses a hand once in awhile and we've all suffered bad beats once or twice(okay more than that but you get the point).

So to help you out when you lose a hand again, especially at these levels, I will offer you this:

May this hold you over when you lose your next hand.

Re: here's a doozie

My bad, thought this was the STORIES and bad beats part of the site, and actually the money didn't go in pre flop. Only 6c pre and 11 post.
Don't worry I won't post anymore on this part of the site, didn't realize everyone was going to be mean about it.

Like I said at the bottom, all I can do is laugh when I flop a house and a guy hits runner runner for a Royal on me when he has barely any outs, I'm not even complaining. Just thought other people might find it funny. Guess not.

also, just used the odds thing

pre flop:
pokenum -mc 500000 -o 8c jd td 8h - qh ts ac 7s
Omaha Hi: 500000 sampled boards
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
8c Jd Td 8h 260626 52.13 237531 47.51 1843 0.37 0.523
Ts 7s Ac Qh 237531 47.51 260626 52.13 1843 0.37 0.477

post flop:
pokenum -o 8c jd td 8h - qh ts ac 7s -- 7c qd 7h
Omaha Hi: 820 enumerated boards containing 7c Qd 7h
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
8c Jd Td 8h 75 9.15 745 90.85 0 0.00 0.091
Ts 7s Ac Qh 745 90.85 75 9.15 0 0.00 0.909

Guess I went from HUGE dog to barely a favorite after the flop then huh?

Re: here's a doozie

Loser's bet on the flop is a definite loser, even after 3 checks. Some plays are beyond comprehension.

Why did you check the flop?

Re: here's a doozie

I think part of the problem is you seem so SUPRISED that you are suffering these bad beats.

You play hundreds of hands, the players have to come up with a whooping 11 cents to call you, and they catch runner runner.

a few pointers:
1) Omaha is a game of draws and outdraws
2) Most people suck at poker, hence they don't even know how far behind they are, and when they hit and win it reinforces their bad play.
3) penny poker is a joke

Now let me relay a bad beat story:

I have
heads up in a tournament for a few hundered bucks
I call a preflop raise

flop:

opponent leads out,
I put him on a couple of overs,
so I go over the top 'ALL IN'
He insta-calls
and flips over

I'm amazed at how dead I am,
and then the miracle turn occurs:

followed by the miracle river

My aces full, wins the hand and the Tournament.

So keep the stories coming, but be advised that what you have experienced is poker and you might want to narrow down your bad beats to say the worst one of the month or so not the top three of my last session.

P.S. I agree this one was a doozie but it would have stood out more if it had been your only post on the subject.

Re: here's a doozie

why did I check:
This guy was being a douche and betting like he wanted to throw all his $ away and I figured I was good at this point. I was hoping someone would lead out and bet 4 or 6 cents then he would re raise and i would smooth call hoping to get more $ out of them.

Yes I know this is omaha and crazy crap happens all the time.
Yes I know I made a post the other day with a few hands, and the only reason I even did that was bc I was looking through the new post section and saw a few so I thought I would share some of mine with the other people who post them. And I'm not posting them to complain about it, I mean it sucks and all, but I just think they are funny. I watch people make the worst plays ever and get paid off. I can't think of a time when I call with a gut shot for a ton of $ and hit it(bc I never call with that) or call with double back door draws just to see if they hit. Some people do and I just can't understand what they are thinking when they do. (and I'm not just talking about penny tables) Plus I posted them soon after they happened, am I not allowed to be a little peeved?
(not talking about you Jonah)
I know bad beats happen basically every second and everyone has them. I just got completely frustrated that they kept coming and it was late and I had noone else to tell them to so I thought I'd bring them here for everyone to enjoy. Never again will I do that now.

The guy was dead to an 8 or runner runner straight or royal flush draws. If he hits an 8 I don't even post this bc Ive seen it a million times.
Nobody on this site can tell me they wouldn't be upset about a guy hitting a runner runner royal flush to take down a flopped full house.
I just don't appreciate it when I see a lot of people post these and then mine is the one that gets slammed and question why I'm upset about it.
Funny thing is, I even said I wasn't mad I think it is hilarius.

Let's use the calculator to see what the odds would have been if he didn't have 88 and all he had was his runner runner for a straight or royal flush, which is what he hits. (and noone say "well then he wouldn't have been in the hand" bc yes he would have. he was raising pot every hand every card. like I said, he was playing to throw away his money)

pokenum -o 8c jd td 4h - qh ts ac 7s -- 7c qd 7h
Omaha Hi: 820 enumerated boards containing 7c Qd 7h
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
8c Jd Td 4h 3 0.37 817 99.63 0 0.00 0.004
Ts 7s Ac Qh 817 99.63 3 0.37 0 0.00 0.996

man 0.37% of the time he hits what he did, why am I even complaining to begin with? He hits that basically EVERY TIME.

Re: here's a doozie

here is where I have a problem.
jojo started a thread on double shootouts and how donks roam free there.

imthatguy makes a post on HIS thread about a guy calling his all in with a flush draw against his AA and he hits it and knocks him out. does he ask him why he is complaining and bring up stats to prove how he wasnt a 99.999999% favorite so he shouldn't be complaining? No.

first of all imthatguy I am not trying to be a jerk to you or anything, that crap happens to me constantly in tourneys and pisses me off to no end. I don't understand how people can call an all in on only a draw. I always wait for a better spot. maybe I call if I flop a pair HU with the draw but then online I play extremely tight bc of all the BS that happens.

my question is why does he come to MY thread that I started (in a forum dedicated to this crap no less) and basically give me a big slap in the face like I should have no reason to complain. does he go to EVERY bad beat story and tell them to stop being babys about it?

he hit something that hits 0.37% of the time. how low does that % have to be before I have a valid complaint?

it's sad that I let little crap like this piss me off personally when I really shouldnt give a ****, but it does. I hate it when people feel like they are the end all be all and are disrespectful to people when they could have just NOT POSTED. big internet tough guy has to tell everyone they are wrong and basically call them an idiot (using sarcasm)

My advice to anyone thinking about posting a bad beat, don't. jojo may come and rip your face off for it.

You may need this again:

It could be worse, you could have been a Patriots fan.

Disregard, I just noticed that you're an Indians fan.
