| Re: I think I played this good I am sure that some others would be able to help maybe better than me, but seeing that you were new to the table and the Villian had a PFR that equates to 5/6 hands, he is definitely raising light. I don't think that someone can get 5 "great" hands in a row. Possible, sure, but not likely.
For starters, Villians raise is only a min raise. Personally, when reraising, I would prefer to go to something like $1 against someone like him, and see what develops on the flop. Now the flop is on the dry side, and possible to hit his range, but not necessarily. $1.90 isn't a horrible bet. His call is rather bad, no hand, and no real draw, unless his plan is to represent spades if they come.
After the turn, he leads out with a open-end draw, and you pop it up. You have to be confident that your hand is the best at this point and raise, which you have done. Personally at this point, I may be happy to get my money in on the turn, and make him pay for any draw that he has with only 1 card to come.
On the river, as played, you have no real choice but to call as the odds were too good, and he had the only real hand that could have you beat. |
