micro: Love Boat vs. the Titanic

Playing micro .05/.10 on Poker Stars. Buy In $6. Normally play two tables for about an hour and then leave. I seem to play better when I set a time limit while playing online. Though I stayed a little longer because this table was nice and I was getting some action.

I was having some luck in the beginning and it led up to this hand.

PokerStars Game #14426718520: Hold'em No Limit ($0.05/$0.10) - 2008/01/09 - 00:02:19 (ET)
Table 'Moguntia' 6-max Seat #5 is the button
Seat 1: gartog ($6.35 in chips)
Seat 2: tlhalker ($15.10 in chips)
Seat 3: TysBone ($11.30 in chips)
Seat 4: Shuraba ($9.85 in chips)
Seat 5: fiel2 ($13.85 in chips)
Seat 6: Irish Se7en ($11.90 in chips)
Irish Se7en: posts small blind $0.05
gartog: posts big blind $0.10
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Irish Se7en [Jd As]

Now I know that I should have raised but I was thinking if I hit my hand I might get paid off. If not, then I would dump it.

The flop comes:

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Irish Se7en [Jd As]
tlhalker: calls $0.10
TysBone: folds
Shuraba: folds
fiel2: calls $0.10
Irish Se7en: calls $0.05
gartog: checks
*** FLOP *** [Ts Js Jh]

everyone checks....I'm liking the flop and even though there's a flush draw, I don't have a problem checking it.

turn is the money card

*** TURN *** [Ts Js Jh] [Ah]

I check and min raise with three other callers, I thought of bumping it up but I was hoping someone may hit the flush so I decided to continue to slow play it.

Irish Se7en: checks
gartog: bets $0.20
tlhalker: calls $0.20
fiel2: calls $0.20
Irish Se7en: calls $0.20

*** RIVER *** [Ts Js Jh Ah] [5s]

Yahtzee!!!!!!

So I'm hoping that someone hit their flush and decided to raise a $1, begging for a reraise.

Irish Se7en: bets $1
gartog: calls $1
tlhalker: folds
fiel2: raises $2.60 to $3.60 oops there it is.

Time to bump it up, all the way up.

Irish Se7en: raises $8 to $11.60 and is all-in

*talking to myself like Ken Light, please call, please call*
gartog: folds

fiel2: calls $8 Bingo, I got BINGO!!!

Now I know don't have the nuts but there's no way I believe he was slow playing aces. If he did well played.

*** SHOW DOWN ***
Irish Se7en: shows [Jd As] (a full house, Jacks full of Aces)
fiel2: mucks hand
Irish Se7en collected $24.15 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $25.40 | Rake $1.25
Board [Ts Js Jh Ah 5s]
Seat 1: gartog (big blind) folded on the River
Seat 2: tlhalker folded on the River
Seat 3: TysBone folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 4: Shuraba folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: fiel2 (button) mucked [Th Jc]
Seat 6: Irish Se7en (small blind) showed [Jd As] and won ($24.15) with a full house, Jacks full of Aces

After the hand I look at what he has and that's just sick. Flops a full house and loses.

Considering the limits, lack of action preflop, flop, turn, would you be able to get away from his hand?

Nice hand, sir.

Now a little OT, but I've never used pokertracker or anything, is that what you are using to check the other guy's hand? If you're able to see mucked hands with that baby, I've been missing out.

I don't think there's anything he could've done. He limped from the button with a marginal hand and flopped a monster. The pot was unraised, so AA and AJ are pretty unlikely. He's thinking the same thing you are: "hopefully somebody hits their flush and I can get paid off". And it's definitely not an issue of "he shouldn't have slow-played it" because you're not going anywhere (with top-trips-top-kicker) if he bets the flop. Just bad luck. And he'll hate you for not raising up that AJ pre-flop...
