Need advice on this hand...

Played a freeroll today with 10,000 entrants on Pstars. Top 99 go onto a $2000 tournament tomorrow.

I'm sitting in fantastic shape with 800 players left...27,500 in chips with the average stack of 14,000 at the time. No one else at the table has more than 7,000 in chips except for me and the other big stack three to my right. I've played an incredible game so far and lost only 1 big pot when my Queens were busted.

Dealt in late position (will check the exact suits later). Blinds are something like 200/400.

Everyone folds around to the big stack who has 32,000 in chips. He goes ALL IN preflop.

Everyone folds to me.

What am I to do here?

Re: Need advice on this hand...

I call here...even though I'm guessing you're posting because you were beat. Seems like a play by someone uncomfortable playing their small/middle PP post flop when overcards appear or a big Ace that doesn't connect on the flop. If it was a goofy play with rockets, oh well.

Re: Need advice on this hand...

Not having any info about this player's style makes it more difficult, but here goes.

Would he push here with AA? I doubt it. I would think more something along the lines of JJ or 10 10. Hands he really doesn't want called, but if you do, he still has a chance.

I would call. You are likely at least a 4 to 1 favorite here.

I might have also won the hand....

The guy going all in with big stack....I didn't think that he would do that with AA with all the short stacks around the table. He had everyone covered by 6 x so he was in no danger of being busted by betting a bit less and getting some callers.

Re: Need advice on this hand...

I call as well.Only one hand has you beat pre-flop.I do know a lot of players that will never call an all-in unless they know they have the nuts and are in top position. No matter how good a player you are though you are still at the mercy of the poker lords on the community cards. They call me River at my game due to the incredible amount of times i have been blistered on that final, evil card!

Call every single time. I don't see what the confusion is? Maybe 10% of the time he has AA. I think you can take the chance.

Call. Especially since you don't think he'd play this way with AA.

Get your money in as a huge favorite. Right decision regardless of outcome.

Re: Need advice on this hand...

I think I would call with KK! Although it is for your tournament if you lose! If you can't imagine him pushing that hard with AA based on how he has been playing them you have to feel pretty good that you are way ahead! However, he could be playing AA that way hoping someone thinks he is just pushing with a small pair and gets a call! For me it would just be how I felt at the time and the read on the BS, but would still most likely call 90% of the time!

So what did he have? what did you do? Results? dont hold us in suspense! lol

Re: Need advice on this hand...

I called.

He turns over AJ off suit.

Flop...NOTHING
Turn....nothing, not even a remote draw....of any kind

3 outs one card to come for a massive massive pot....of nearly 60,000 chips and to the top of the leader board......

Ace on the River~!

Busted

Uglyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

I somehow felt you got busted on this hand! That just sucks beyong belief but you did get your money in with the best hand! According to my odds (if they are correct lol) you were 71% to 33 % pre-flop and with the loose info we have 85% after the flop, prob 93% ish after turn and he just caught a lucky card! Nothing you can do here but be disgusted the poker gods let the ace hit on the river! Again all I can say is..

UGLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
