We Three Kings of Orient are...BUSTO...

Ok, this hand is driving me nuts! I was playing 25c/50c cash with a group that I'm familiar with. I just sat down about 20 minutes before this hand with $47 (it was $50, $3 for refreshments). I won a pot that put me at about $58.50, so I was happy. I'm in the Cutoff, with a maniac UTG.

UTG looks at his cards, exclaims "OOH!" and raises 4x to $2. UTG+1 folds, MP1 and 2 call. MP3 folds, I call the $2 with K-7o (1st mistake). Button calls, as does the SB, the BB as well. It's 7 players to the flop of KKQ. It's surprisingly checked to me (it's a juicy table). I bet out $8. Folds to maniac UTG, who pops it up $15 more. Fold back to me, and now I'm really worried. I start thinking, does he have me beat? I ask him, did you flop a boat with KQ (makes sense because of the preflop exclamation), maybe QQ? I can't decide exactly what to do, so I show my King, showing trips. He kinda sits back in his chair, probably throwing a false tell at me, but I didn't pick up on it. I'm not sure, so I call the $15 and hope I spike a 7 on the turn. Turn is a 5, and UTG puts me all in. I'm kinda stuck here, since I've already put in half my stack, so I call it and he show his favorite hand, the one that he has ALWAYS won with, KJs, and the river is a jack and I'm busto. Game over.

I suck at cash games. I frickin' HATE them.

I'll stick to tournaments where I'm not blowing $50-100 in a sitting, I can just play for $20-30 and have a slight advantage because I consider myself better at them.

You're right that calling with K7o wasn't so good. K7s maybe in that loose game, but not K7o! You were in good shape until your suck-out got sucked out.

He raised 4x the BB. I would have fold immediately. You should know he hold high pocket or AK that's what I put him at.

I guess I gave him too much credit.

You should think about it with K7 not suited and connected. Remember to fold that hand next time. BTW, that hand was a tourney I would have fold too.

I might have misread something. Did you show your hand after the flop and before you were all-in?

I'm not asking whether its legal to show before a final bet on the river. I'm just thinking I'm probably not going to show my cards with two more streets of betting.

Did you REALLY think someone as dumb as UTG sounds would think he could bluff you off your hand because you know he knows what you have?
