I'm hosting my semi-regular home tournament tomorrow night. I recently added the Poker Genie and some padded stacking chairs (yay for people leaving good stuff by the curb and for Craigslist!) to my set up.
It's been a while since I hosted, so I'm pretty excited and just wanted somewhere to express my joy!
Looks like I'll have 10 players (perfect) -- a bunch of regulars and a couple new guys. These things always turn out to be a lot of fun.
At my last tournament I came in second. Blinds had gotten very high, so it was sort of fold or all-in at that point. I was slightly behind in chips and looked down at 66. So I push and get called.
Me: 66
Opponent: Q3o
Flop: 9 Q 3 (rainbow)
My reaction: "Ouch! Gimme a 6! Gimme a 6! Gimme a 6!"
Turn: 6
My reaction: "YES!!!!!!"
River: Q
My reaction: "Son of a B*TCH!"
Can't really complain. It was an awesome game with a real hum dinger of a final hand. Plus I cashed. So - woo hoo.
Anyway, just had a bunch of pent-up excitement about the game tomorrow and needed to share.
*In fact, I'm so excited that the title indicates the game is tonight. It's not. I wish it was.
