The sickest hand I was in and LOST.

Playing a side game after being eliminated from a bar poker game last night.

I'm under the gun and raise BLIND to try to buy the pot. Folds to the SB to min raises me. I call blind.

FLOP:
SB: Checks, I finally look at my cards: I raise 1/2 Pot.

SB doubles my bet, I figure he's on the NUT draw, I push and have him covered, but not by much... He insta-calls me.

SB: Shows

I call for the for the straight flush...Oh wait I'm drawing dead because he has an open ended straight flush to my needed .

TURN: . I fricking called a ONE OUTER, and still lost.

RIVER: Doesn't matter.

BTW, this is my 2nd straight flush in 6 days, in a live event.

That is sick, how much did you lose?

What are he odds that someone is going to have a higher straight flush than you? Better yet, that two people have a straight flush.

Re: The sickest hand I was in and LOST.

Same thing happened to me at Mohegun Sun before they closed their poker room. I had the low end of a straight flush and never would have dreamed that he had the higher end. Needless to say I went broke on that hand. Too bad they didn't have a bad beat... then this would be a much a happier story!

Re: The sickest hand I was in and LOST.

You had a low flush and a one-out draw to a SF. Any heart above the 4 has two draws to a better flush. As it turned out, you were drawing dead.

It's not really a sick beat if the money goes in while you're drawing dead.

Agreed, definitely a tough hand to lose with though. Had a similar hand online in PLO, guy caught the idiot end of the str8 flush on the same card that made my royal.

Re: The sickest hand I was in and LOST.

I not saying it was a sick beat. I was drawing dead the entire way. Just the fact how the cards played was sick.

It was a low stakes game, so not really big deal. I didn't go broke on that hand, and the guy that I doubled up didn't make it to the money. So other than this hand it was really uneventful.

I had a very similar hand to yours and got the idiot end of a SF too on the turn but I had a tell on the other player and folded my hand. One other player called and he turn over the nut SF at the end.
