I was at this trade show tournament where the winner gets a 37" lcd TV. I was card dead most of the time and folded almost every hand but won two allin hands and made the final table. Got a couple of goods hands at final table and elminated a couple of players and got my chip stack to average. Then they decided time was running on the hotel show room, they increased the blinds by 1000 every hand and it became a crap shoot.

With 3 players remainng, I was chip lead by a bit. I was bb which cost me 1/2 my chips, BT folded and sb went allin, I called with J7o. We flip cards over and he had 76, he flopped a 6 and I just had enough for the sb. I was dealt T7, got the T but was outkicked by KT. The blinds was so big that it was just a crap shoot as to lose just the blinds at that point was deadly.

Although, I have to say, I expected some sort of gambling depravity from the title - some sort of goofy gamble where you put up a TV that you already owned in a prop/dice/flip bet or something. GTK you are not a degenerate gambler

That is a terrible way to lose out on a victory. You play solid, win a few All Ins and then to have them basically take your chips away so you have to play ATC is bush. Tough beat.

Hopefully it was a free tournament. Honestly, when they said, "blinds increase by 1000 every hand." and my chipstack was that of <2M I would just say, "Lets play 7 card bingo on the next hand, winner takes ALL!"

It was a freebie, one of those trade presentations for computer hardware/software dealers. My friend has a company and if I have time I usually go with him. They usually draw for all kinds of prizes but this time they decided to do a tourney for the lcd TV. I am hoping they will have this again as I have a better chance at winning than by random draw. It had about 35 players and less than five really know how to play holdem. The whole evening wasn't an entirely disappointment, I did win Windows Vista Ultimate in the draw. No use for it, so I will put it up for sale.

When they annouced up $1000 every hand, I said, "Let's just draw for high card for the TV."

What brand was the T.V.? Was it a Sony, Sharp, LG.....

TV was a Viewsonic. Previous time, it was LG.
