3-6 Limit Hold 'Em At The Casino

Lol... For those of you that also play it... Can you even BELIEVE how bad these guys play? They seriously give their money away.

They will limp with 8-10 off, or K-7 off, and call down on flops such as A-A-4 and 3-3-Q. It's seriously unbelievable.

And this isn't a complaint, just a thread of how funny these players play. Like honestly, how can you possibly play that crappy? They'll call down with 44 on a A-10-9 board and stuff. LOL. It's a free $50-$250 a night.

Re: 3-6 Limit Hold 'Em At The Casino

Was that the first time you played low limit in the casino? They call it no fold'em hold'em for a reason. Be cautious...It is not always easy money. It is pretty awesome when the cards fall as they should but when these guys start catching cards it is scary. The variance is huge.

I read a good article by Daniel N about this concept. He said you should never look at your cards preflop and always call no matter what. Then after flop if there is betting look at your cards and if you have any draws at all call. Any made hand always raise. He said that it is a winning strategy and likely to have a positive EV.

Are you refering to ANY casino including Las Vegas or local casinos? I did not sit at the $1/$2 or $3/$6 on my last vegas trip but I watched it for awhile. Therer were a lot of locals playing and definitely not giving ther $ away

This was about 8 months ago, but for some reason the article always has stuck in my head. It was posted on his FCP forum somewhere. Sorry I don't have it.

Wise words right there...

I've seen horrible players make $300 in a night playing 3-6, and I've seen very good players lose that much... In the long run the good players make out, but in the short term it view can be very painful at times.

Very true. If I play 3-6 I always have someone take me out back and f me in the a$$ then kick me in the balls that way I am somewhat happy to be playing 3-6.

Re: 3-6 Limit Hold 'Em At The Casino

A lot of it depends on table image too. At a very talkative and friendly table you can win a lot by playing very aggressively when you have the cards. On my last trip to Vegas I was definitely Mr. Social (until W took the title) and it helped. I would root for certain players when I wasn't involved. Tell people "great game" and such. Once my table image was set as a tight-aggressive player I opened up and started raising more on the come and even re-raised when I was positive I was no good.

If you can get a real good feel for the table and the players (like in any game) than the game is real easy. But if you just sit down and expect to win it can really hurt your pocketbook.

play every day for a month and then let us know how you're doing.

my predictions:
1) they still play horribly
2) not so much with the free money.

reasons why:
-rake. at muckleshoot, for instance, they rake $5 per pot, for rake/jackpot. this is significant
-variance. you'll often lose big pots with tptk or flopped top two (or bigger) when those maniacs hit runner runner. you'll often go 3 hours straight and never flop anything. result: losing nights.
