I'll be honest, I answered YES to 17 of these.

Yes to 1, "Were you reluctant to use "gambling money" for normal expenditures?"

But I have the opposite reason, I've got money set aside for gambling and I don't want to use "normal" money set aside for gambling. I try not to touch my "play" money for regular things, that way I don't feel compelled to hit the ATM to grab some cash...and maybe a little extra.

There are a few in there for me - especially gambling longer than planned. That happens almost every night/morning while I'm in Vegas.

I think that happens to MOST everyone.
I'll play till my big blind, then 1 hr later.

which is why i am not sure i believe some of the above answers...

also i think there is a bias to only answer this poll if you score low.. just me thinking.

#4 yes, sort of. I've felt like an idiot for calling someone even though I suspected he had the nuts. Suppose that could be remorse.

#11 yes, I have. I have a few hobbies as well as money saved for other things, besides the obvious savings (401k, IRA, etc). I've always paid my bills on time, etc. I have sold items from various hobbies that I no longer wanted in my collection and rather than acquire another item, I have used the money as part of a bank roll.

So, 2 for me.

tmpa, I applaud you for going, so I am not taking away from that...

But let's say you (anyone in general, not you, tmpa) were independently wealthy and could afford to gamble... Some/many of these would still apply... its the nature of the attraction to gamble...
