First cash game action with my new Fauxes

I just broke out my set of 1000 Fauxes for their first real action. My buddies and I play a $5 buy-in $.05/$.10 cash game, and we had about 14 people this time. We allow one re-buy per person, and tonight we had over $90 in the pot. It got down to being me and seven other guys, and the chip leader ended up having to leave early, taking $30 out of the pot with him. When he left, so did three of the other players, taking another $20 or so with them. So, we were three-handed with $48 left in the pot. After two hands, I was heads-up, and down about 3 to 1 in chips. Time was running short, and it had gotten to the point where he only had $5 more than me. I looked down at Q J offsuit. The flop came J 5 Q. Turn was a J... Long story short, I ended up doubling up, and taking $43 away. The chips were a great hit, and I was the big winner! An all-around success, if I do say so myself. Big thanks to all you guys here at CT, since without you, I'd still be thinking my 11.5g dice chips were all that and a bag o' potato chips.

Re: First cash game action with my new Fauxes

Just curious, but why do you only allow one rebuy for a cash game? I would think the whole point of a cash game is to be able to play as long as you are willing to keep putting money on the table...

Sounds like a good game, congrats on the nice cash.

Thanks for the congrats!

Although it's techinally a cash game, it has certain tournament elements mixed in. Everyone that plays likes to get down to a "final table," since we usually start out with at least two tables. Setting the limit on re-buys helps make this happen. We try to get down to one or two people by the end of the night, but we usually end up cashing out with 4 or 5 people still playing, simply because we never get started early enough and run out of time.

Re: First cash game action with my new Fauxes

This sounds like more of a tournament with cash game elements. Do the blinds go up?
Good work on the fauxs, and congratulations on the win. Do you have any labels or denoms on the fauxs? I think we should have some pics here!

If we're in the mood, we occasionally double the blinds every once in a while to get the short stacks out or to try to stir up some action if it's getting boring. As for the lack of pics, I don't have a digital camera, otherwise there would've been pics in the poker chip gallery a while ago. They're just plain fauxes, though, no labels, dye jobs, etc. I'm gonna have to work on that...
