Sweet. I'm quite sure that's the first head's up royal I've ever seen or heard of. Congrats on getting it paid off. I guess he figured there were only 2 diamonds that beat him. Little did he know you had both of them!

he was actually a solid player - this was the 2nd round in a 4 player HU tourney. I prettu much chose just the right bet amount (no way he was betting/raising me)

I bellieve the progression was - me raise preflop (big surprise there). Check/check flop. Check-bet turn (he had the A8 ) and then I bet the river.
