| So very, very close... So I've been hosting a home tournament once a month for about 5 months now. And I have yet to win my own tournament. I've been doing consistently well, placing in the top 3 the past several games.
Last Saturday I was in position to win the thing. Head's up the blinds are fairly large (I try to keep the action rolling so those who are knocked out don't have to sit around too long before the "pick up" tourney starts!). I'm on the button, SB, and the other guy doesn't even have a full raise (blinds are at 2,000/4,000, he's posted his $4k and only has 3,5000 left).
I look at AT, so I put him all in. He calls with 79s.
Flop: 5,T,A - two spades.
Turn: Blank
River: Ks.
He rivers me, and stays in. At this point, we're trading the lead. We're about even, he's got a slight lead on me. I'm in the BB, he raises from the button. I look down at 66 and go all in. He calls.
Me: 66 Him: Q3
Flop: 7,Q,3
My reaction: Oh CRAP. Gimme a 6. Gimme a 6. Gimme a 6...
Turn: 6
My reaction: YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
River: Q
My reaction: SON OF A ......
Talk about a great last hand... but I'm still bummed I lost. Oh well. That's the end of my rant. |
