| | | $1/$2 Limit is the worst game ever played
After months of my friends and co-workers telling my how awesome it was, I just spent the last three days playing $1/$2 limit hold'em at the local card room. I will never, ever go back.
All I can say is it was three days filled with the absolute worst aspects of poker - dumb luck, crazy draws, bad beats, nobody folding, terrible play, no strategy, moronic table tallk, and lost money.
Overall I walked away down about $30.00 for three days (about 10 hours of play) but the money isn't the problem - even if I had won $300.00 it wouldn't have been worth the frustration.
Maybe if they offered $1/$2 no limit it would be better, but this sucks. You cannot get anyone off of a hand no matter what you have and nine out of ten hands is won by absolute garbage cards which hit dumb luck. I hate dumb luck poker.

You are correct - Saint Augustine, Florida. There is a card room at one of the dog tracks in town.
The golf is very good here, I just don't get much time to play. And I suck at it.

Bluff nothing, it makes it hard to win even by honestly representing what you have. Suck out after suck out after suck out after suck out. Down right infuriating.

how in the world could you expect any different??
I was playing 3/6 limit the other day until my NL table opened and it was like watching paint dry, I almost went to the bathroom to drown myself in the toilet. And this was after raising every hand and winning the first 4 hands...sucking out on every hand. I won $132 and wanted to go kill myself. |

1/2 limit live is pretty much the same as playing in the online play money games. everyone's in, all the time--woohoo it's a party. 3/6 is a little better, and at 5/10 it turns into real poker, and from there up it's actually fun. |

Unfortunately, 1/2 is about all they offer as far as hold'em goes. They do "crazy pinapple" (whatever that is), Omaha, and a bunch of turbo tournaments.
I was thinking of trying a turbo tournament, but the blinds go up so fast it probably wouldn't be much better. At $45.00 to buy in I figured the 1/2 table would allow my money to go farther.
Did I mention I am never going to go back? Nickle/Dime in my kitchen is a million times better, more fun, and the play is magnitudes better.
