So Im playing my weekly game last night, started with 7 down to two. Im up against the guy who took all but one person out. But Ive managed to take from him and knock one person out right before heads up, leaving me with more chips. He started out well doubling up with pocket 5 against my A-J. Oh well! We went back and forth for a while and now he has me in chips, not by much. I get A-K facing a raise of 1200 with the antes being 400. We both have about 16,000 in chips. We started at 9:30 and its 3o am now! I came over the top of him All-In. He called with pocket 5's again. He told me he had a pair and I really didnt want him to call because I had been losing races alot. So the flop comes out A-4-6 rainbow-----turn-3----river------7!!!!!!!Bad month for A-K! Normally thats a hand I really get pissed with, but I was able to hold it in. 120 bucks in my grasp! And ripped away. I almost would have rather seen him hit a 5.
That´s just bad luck, maybe if you just call, then with your A on the flop go all in, maybe he wouldn´t call it seeing an A on the flop. But as I said bad luck (that sucks).
Thats true, normally I would just call and let him hang himself. When he raised preflop I knew he either had AQ or a smaller pair. I figured if I go all in and he does have AQ then he's dominated. And even if he does have that pair he may not want to race with it becuz if he loses hes pretty much out of the game.
I know what you mean earlier in that game before it was down to 2, I knocked a guy out. I had QQ and he had 55, the person dealing decided to flip the river first since we were all in and he revealed the 5! I was really pissed! Then the flop showed a Q and it was all better! Strange things happen at my house. Guy moved all in with Queens and one guy called with 7h-8h ,pot committed. And the board came 4-7-7-8-7.....!!!!!Craziness!!! In the summer A buddy of mine had moved All-in over the top of my raise preflop, for 100 more than I bet. Person behind him calls with JJ, and back around to me I go all in with AA. Keep in mind I have everyone dominated in chips and I am the type that will check it out, if I dont have much. He calls with the JJ and cries when I turned over AA, literally. He empties both barrels on the flop hitting both Jacks! Than I was crying.

So 1200 had to be the smallest possible raise...meaning the blinds are 600/1200? The ante was almost the same size as the small blind? I couldn't even get to the hand situation because I'm still trippin' on the ante in relation to the raise. What's the deal with that?
