Its not your fault, the donkey called with j-10o. With aces you either lose big or win small.

i like to make a bigger than standard raise with AA-KK early on, just b/c i don't like to laydown with them. but i agree, 500 is almost always gonna be too much.

and i agree on the postflop meh. be happy to know you earned sklansky bucks and fire up another.

Re: Aces cracked again

I typically don't raise that much. But this table was crazy. I kept having to raise my preflop raise or else I kept getting tons of callers.

Re: Aces cracked again

AA gets cracked from time to time, whether its an underpair or two random cards that shyte happens. It used to bug me a ton, but now I just shrug it off and keep in mind the decision I made was correct and sound by getting my money in with as the dominating favorite.

Re: Aces cracked again

I had AA three times during the last game I played and they were beaten all three times. I don't think I have ever had them so much in one game and I couldn't even win. Oh well, they are nice, but not bulletproof.

You get no sympathy from me...

Who's the real donk in this hand?

1. Ri-donk-ulous over raise pre-flop. The blinds are 10-20 and you make it 500!

2. Not the greatest call on the flop. Thats a very dangerous board for AA. What hand can you beat with AA on a Q Q J flop when a guy moves in? Your best case scenario is that he has 8 outs with KT or T9. Technically you made the right call because of his hand, but more often than not you're gonna be drawing dead to 2 outs if you call off your stack on flops like that with just AA...learn to muck a hand.

3. How far are you from Jacksonville because I would LOVE to have you in my home game?

I'm gonna be honest, this sounds like play chips. The buy-in isn't listed at the top, every single player limped pre flop, and a guy called a 25 x BB raise with JTo. If this was play chips then...WHO CARES. If it was real money then..WHAT SITE, so I can sign up.

I didn't even post how much I had raised.

Lerxst73: aces are no good here

The last hand is a prime example of the dangers of not raising preflop with a big pair. I had 8 3 on the BB I put him on a pair of Queens at the flop. That's the way he'd been playin all night.
