Chips: 34 | | | What annoys me... Anyone have those people at your home game that just do annoying things? Those people that after someone shows a hand say, "I knew yoou had that hand", even though they never...ever say a hand before it's shown. Or folks that ask how you could call a raise, when you know that the person bluffs time after time? They like to say they had the odds to make the call...but only after they see your cards... They think they are as close to a professional player as onyone because they've dealt at a charity event...though you've seen them lose to your local group week after week after week. Of course you love their action at the table, because they are donors more often than not, but sometimes the talk....just gets tiring.

I thought a cooler was a person that killed a hot streak at a table in a casino to stop the house from losing money...how can one person winning over another be a "cooler"? That person won, so the action is still at the table, it hasn't gone to the house...

Everyone is getting tired of it though, we just on up him and tell him we folded a better hand , even if the hand isn't possible, just to shut him up. (if two 3's pop on the board he says he would have hit a set and I say I would have hit quads if I called)

Chips: 5,912 | | | Re: What annoys me... in poker context being in the "cooler" or getting "cooler'd" is when you have a hand that you really can't fold considering the situation but your opponent has a hand that is better. Noone is really making a mistake considering the incomplete information, but you just are unlucky to have a second best hand.
An example of a cooler would be getting KK when your opponent has AA and getting it all-in preflop in a couple of bets (obviously if your opponent puts in the 4th or 5th raise pf you might want to consider if he has AA).
Having the ass-end of a straight flush would be getting cooler'd. Or having QQ on an AAQ flop when your opponent has AQ. So they may actually be using it right, but that still doesn't mean they aren't annoying as all hell for complaining about it. |
