| Two worst beats I've had in live poker.... This first one is the worst beat I've had PERIOD. I'm dealt JJ on the button in the first hand of a tournament. 3-4 callers and I raise to 100 (10/20 blinds). I get one caller, and the flop comes 888. She bets 60, I raise to 200, she pushes. I think for a little bit, but knowing she called my preflop raise I call. She flips 66. Turn 6. River 6. I had to point out to people that I was still winning after the turn 6 because the 3 8s were higher. Everyone at the table went crazy after the river.
Second ones not so bad. JJ (again), this time in early position. Again I make it 100, and I get 2 callers. Flop JTQ (2 diamonds or hearts, can't remember). the big blind goes all in (barely having me covered) and I call. He flips over AT, for an inside straight draw and a pair of 10s, and I flip over my set. Turn 7. The guy who's dealing glances at the river card and just looks at me and I know what's coming. King on the river, and I'm out again.
Anyways, just thought I'd share these hands. I don't really think I misplayed them but the runner runner 6s was surreal, especially since I was dealing that hand. |
