I hosted my first T5000 tourny on the 24th and totally dominated the game. It was almost as if I was playing with all the collective knowlege of the fellow Chiptalkers in my ear. I heard Jojo tell me to fold the two pair I flopped when the board was showing a flush and Speakeasy was there casting some of his level 1 table spells to aid my game and send my opponents on TILT. It was the first game where I did not manage to misplay my cards.
With only a few players, things were starting to heat up rather quickly and playing marginal hands became the norm. I took a dominant chip lead about 30 minutes into the proceedings with a JTo that flopped a Q high straight. With the others betting into me every moment they got the pot began to grow. At the end of the hand, over 1/2 the chip in play were sitting in the middle of the table waiting for me to take 'em down. That one hand caused one person to rebuy and two more to add on. It also gave me a commanding chip lead which I never reliquished for the duration of the game. What a nice way to spend the day before Christmas.
PS: My girlfriend is getting me an octagonal tabletop and helping to partially fund my purchase of 500 faux clays in the next week. It was a good day.
