Very true! Tonight, I painted "special" Christmas ornaments - to hang on the tree - in memory of the family members who are no longer with us.

And Brent.....that was a well penned story! well done!

Merry, Merry Christmas Brent & PocketRocket!!

Re: Holiday Prime-Rib Poker

Oh, that's not that old then. Until recently I didn't even know that they used the cancellation mark (starburst) as a design for retail chips. I picked mine up (totally on a whim) about 23-25 years ago from a cardroom supply store. Needless to say there were a few people that I had totally lost it when they found out that I had paid $35/100 for those chips, though in today's dollars that would still be a bit high as you could get spotted Paulsons with an inlay for today's equivilant dollars (accounting for inflation).

Re: Holiday Prime-Rib Poker

Even with inflated dollars, I think you made out pretty well at $0.35 a chip. Hope you still have em.

Re: Holiday Prime-Rib Poker

Yeah I still have them, just put them in storage since this renewed interest in poker has brought out more attractive options.

Bear in mind that you can get similar chips from TR King and ASM, similarly hot stamped, for $.50-.55 each and even with edgespots for $.65 each. So unless one is caught really up in the Paulson mystique, there are still affordable compression molded chips that you don't have to pay $1+ each for.
